The Hercules 1KG ABC Dry Powder fire extinguisher is the perfect solution for tiny fires. Its size and weight makes it easy even for children to handle though we don’t quite recommend it as fires can be dangerous and unpredictable. With its small form, it can be stored easily in the kitchen or living room without being too much of an obstacle to movement. It can also be stored in most vehicle glove compartments.

When asked for our recommendations for home use, we usually suggest Hercules 2KG AB Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher , Hercules 4KG AB Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher or Hercules 2L Foam Fire Extinguisher.

The 2KG Hercules Dry powder fire extinguisher has twice as much dry powder while the size and weight are very similar. Having more dry powder allows for a greater margin of error and a longer reaction time which makes it much easier to eliminate a larger fire. This is the choice most people opt for.

The 4KG Hercules Dry powder fire extinguisher is noticeably larger in size but is actually only 9.4KG. A 2 year old child is approximately the weight of 10-12KG so most adults can definitely carry a 4KG with reasonable ease. The main advantage of the 4KG Hercules Dry Powder Fire extinguisher is the larger capacity of dry powder and a hose which allows you to aim the discharge easily.

Class A: Ordinary combustibles (i.e. cloth, wood and paper)

* In the Singapore Standards, only the Class A & B logos are allowed to be displayed on the fire extinguisher. This is because SCDF is educating the general public that the correct way to fight Class C and electrical fires is to first turn off the source.
